R.N.V. Leviathan

The R.N.V. Leviathan, leading ship of a class of three warships; Leviathan, Kraken, and Behemoth, which was so groundbreaking in the developement of naval warfare that she would give her name to an entire class of future warships. The Leviathans. Constructed in absolute secrecy at the Regent's main dockyards in northern Saalas, the three Leviathans were designed to be the zenith in aerial warship design and have unprecedented survivability in combat with enemy fleets. Due to the Regent Armed forces lack of numerical shipbuilding capacity, the idea was that instead of 2 or 3 battleships of smaller tonnage and firepower, cramming all 3 into one enormous ship would increase the time that ALL of the firepower would be available and also decrease the chance of having to completely rebuild a new ship. This was attainable through a joint design committee between the Alterain's and the Regental's naval forces. This "think tank" created the groundwork for the newly developed 20" artillery cannon and the smaller but also impressive Alterain 16" cannon found on the Balaur class. Coupled with this firepower it was deemed necessary to increase the armour of the ship by an order of magnitude to ensure that, even though "all eggs are now in one basket, it is a heavily armoured and incredibly durable basket"~Prime Minister Conway. The Leviathan class's introduction into the allied naval fleets of Altera, Regent, and Khuno has necessitated the restructuring of the 1st, 4th, and 7th fleets. Each being now reorganized around a Leviathan instead of the previous Wyvern class battleships which were acting as flagships. The outdated Wyverns have since been relegated to patrol duties due to the increase in aerial pirate raids. Though outclassed by opposing Aero-Dreadnought's the Wyverns are still more than a match for the odd pirate conversion of a merchantman.

48x8" dual purpose Anti-Air/Secondary Revolver Cannon guns in 48 single casement turrets around the ship.
69x2.5" Dual mount Anti-Air concussion shell launchers around the ship.
